Conveniently located across Charleston Harbor to the south of downtown Charleston, James Island is one of the Charleston area’s most popular suburban communities. The neighborhoods situated along Harbor View Road enjoy particularly quick access to downtown via the James Island Connector. These include Lawton Bluff, Woodward Pointe, Stiles Point, Stiles Point Plantation, and Clearview. Also located very close to downtown is the Country Club of Charleston, with many homes featuring golf course views. Riverland Terrace is one of James Island’s most sought after older neighborhoods, with the most expensive homes featuring waterfront views of the Wappoo Cut or the Stono River. Recreation amenities abound -- James Island residents enjoy the 643-acre James Island County Park, “The Muni” (Charleston Municipal Golf Course) and quick access to Folly Beach.
